Southmead is found in the northern part of Bristol and is surrounded by Henleaze, Westbury on Trym, Henbury, Filton and Horfield.
Southmead Rugby club itself is based in the heart of the Southmead estate and is part of the Greenway Centre on Doncaster road.
Leave at Junction 17 and head along the A4018 towards Bristol centre. You will cross 3 roundabouts after the junction and start to climb a large hill which bends to your right at the bottom. As the road bends you will see a left hand turning into Greystoke Avenue, (If you're at the traffic lights you've gone too far!). Follow this road to the left till you see a mini roundabout, turn right into Doncaster road, your first right is the entrance into Greenway, the club is at the far end of the centre, follow the arrows!
Head up Park Street, Whiteladies Road and finally Blackboy hill to the Durdam Downs. Follow the A4018 across the White Tree roundabout, (look out for a white tree......), and down the hill. You'll go through 4 sets of traffic lights quite close together. The fourth set, (just after a Texaco garage), you'll need to get onto the right side of the road. As the road bends you will see a right hand turning into Greystoke Avenue. Follow this road to the left till you see a mini roundabout, turn right into Doncaster road, your first right is the entrance into Greenway, the club is at the far end of the centre, follow the arrows!
You need to get to junction 1 of the M32 and head along the towards Filton. Stay on this road, you'll pass the M.O.D. building on your left, (big place, you really can't miss it), and head up a slight hill. At the top you come to a large roundabout with KFC on your right and Airbus in front of you. Head straight on and you'll veer left down Southmead Road passing the BAWA club on your right. You find yourself at a double roundabout, go straight across this and past the entrance to Southmead Hospital on your left. At the traffic light you'll see the Bear and Rugged Staff pub in front and to the right, turn right into Doncaster Road. You'll head down and back up again, look left to see an adventure playground and a school, just before you reach another mini roundabout the Greenway centre is on your left, the club is at the far end of the centre, follow the arrows!
